Red- Tailed Hawk

The red-tailed hawk is very common throughout North America. It can weigh between 1.5 - 3.5 pounds with a wingspan of 43 - 57 inches.
The females are usually 25% larger than the males (sexual dimorphism).
The yellowish irises in this bird indicate that it is young and immature.
