Red- Tailed Hawk























The red tailed hawk uses its keen eyesight to spot mice, squirrels, rabbits, and reptiles.It can reach speeds over 100 mph when diving. They are monogamous and mate for life.

The red-tailed hawk is very common throughout North America. It can weigh between 1.5 - 3.5 pounds with a wingspan of 43 - 57 inches.
The females are usually 25% larger than the males (sexual dimorphism).
The yellowish irises in this bird indicate that it is young and immature.
